Is Our Office Right for You?

Thank you for considering Introspect Mental Health for your care. To help you determine if our office is the right fit for your needs, please review the following important information:

    1. Legal Issues:
If the main reason you are seeking care at our office is regarding a legal problem, you should consider finding other options. We focus solely on mental health care and treatment.

    2. Disability Claims:
We do not certify disability or fill out disability paperwork except in the case of an  established patient who we recommended to take time off from work.

We recommend that you consider attending an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) or Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), if you feel that you are unable to work or you have already stopped working due to your symptoms.

    3. Specialized Care for Certain Conditions:
If you have three or more systemic illnesses or are above the age of 70, we advise you to consider an evaluation with a psychiatrist who specializes in geriatrics or who practices as part of bigger system along with your internal medicine doctor and other specialists

    4. Controlled Substances:
If you currently take a controlled substance (such as Xanax, Adderall, or Klonopin) and you are convinced that it or another controlled substance like it is the only medication that will work for you, we might not be the right office for you.

Controlled medications are effective and safe tools to manage certain conditions when they are employed appropriately, but they also carry a high risk for misuse, abuse, diversion, and addiction. If you are currently prescribed a controlled substance or if you believe you might require one, it is important that you review our controlled substance policy to help determine if we are the right office for you.

    5. ADHD/ADD Evaluations:
If you are an adult concerned about a possible ADHD or ADD diagnosis and have never had a clinical psychological evaluation, we advise you to contact a psychologist for an evaluation before seeking a psychiatric evaluation and considering medications.

Our office will not prescribe ADHD/ADD medications if you are not currently on them, have not previously had an evaluation, or do not provide a copy of prior evaluations.

    6. Appointment Timeliness:
We strive to minimize your waiting time; however, appointments can be unpredictable, and sometimes there will be delays.

We ask for your patience and understanding as we aim to start all appointments on time, but please be aware that there may be a wait due to the unique needs of each individual.

We ask that all patients allow for a 30-minute wait time when booking appointments. If you leave without being seen or wish to reschedule your appointment before you have been waiting for 30 minutes, we will have to consider it a late cancellation and fee will apply.

    7. Financial Policies:
Please review our financial policies and understand that appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to a late cancellation fee of $75. No exceptions. All you have to do is leave a voicemail message or send a text message with at least 24 hours notice and we will contact you to reschedule your appointment.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation with these guidelines. Our goal is to provide the best possible care while maintaining a respectful and efficient practice environment. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
